Making it to Print
This girl from our class made it into a local newspaper as she wrote directly to Sir Kenneth Branagh asking for his help to set up a stage school in the local area. It is always inspirational to see children fighting for their dreams and we are very proud of her.
Accelerated Reader
Accelerating reading is very important in Seaview. We set aside 15-20 minutes each day for the children to read and fall in love with books. We encourage the children to also try to do 15-20 minutes of reading at home to. This helps build their confidence and ability with reading. Well done to this girl who has been trying really hard with her reading and completing lots of tests which show how much progress she is making.
Strictly Superstar
Some of our children had the amazing opportunity to meet Darcey Bussell at an event in Currie Primary School. We had one particular ballet dancing enthusiast who was so excited to meet one of her idols. A truly amazing opportunity which the children will never forget.
Sporting Achievements
Well done to this girl who competed in a trampolining competition outside of school. An amazing achievement!
Money Week
Last week was money week in Seaview. We completed lots of work in class regarding money. However, the highlight of our week was the amazing pancake and croissant sale that the year 7's organised. We enjoyed the treats and also talked about how they were going to make a profit and how businesses work.
Cross Country
Well done to our three year six girls from our class who helped to represent Seaview at the end of last month in a cross country competition. The girls braved the cold and did everyone proud.
Safer Internet Day
Tuesday the 6th of February is Safer Internet Day. In our class we have been looking at the S.M.A.R.T rules for staying safe online. We encourage our parents to reinforce these points at home to ensure our children remain happy and safe online.
Valentine Fundraisers
There are lots of fun activities for the children to take part in this week in the run up to half term and Valentines Day.
Staying Safe
Today we had a visit from the P.S.N.I. They chatted with us and gave us lots of advice on how to stay safe outside of school. We really enjoyed meeting the officers and learnt some important things.
Compassion
In Seaview we try our best to abide by our "R.I.C.H" values. Respect, inclusion, compassion and honesty are the fundamentals which we build on in school. This week we had one girl in our class who went above and beyond in showing compassion towards others. This girl has donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust in order to raise money to battle brain cancer. Well done, you truly are a Seaview Star.
Seaview Star
Well done to this weeks Seaview Star. This pupil is an "always" girl, she always does amazing work and always shows our R.I.C.H values in school.
Space
This year our in The World Around Us we have been learning all about space. We have really enjoyed learning lots of new facts about the Earth and everything that goes on around us. In class we used a range of different fruits which represented the different planets and their sizes. We then took them into the corridor and measured the difference between each planet - to scale! We are currently putting all of our new knowledge into a PowerPoint presentation.
Sports in Year 6.
In Seaview we are lucky to have access to a range of amazing sports coaches from outside agencies. This term is no different as we are being taught by Ciaran Chambers - a player who is training for the Commonwealth Games! He may have some serious competition in future as some of our children have shown some great skills!
